These five Philadelphia Eagles have disappointed the most through eight games thus far.

I guess we’re technically past the NFL’s halfway mark – since we’re now heading into Week 10 – but when it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles, they’ve only played eight games thus far. For the sake of the article, I’m calling this the halfway mark and we’re just going to roll with it.

At 3-4-1, the Philadelphia Eagles as a whole have been wildly disappointing this year. They still somehow sit in first place in the NFC East, but that’s zero testament to how they’ve performed.

When you have just three wins through the first half of the season, a whole bucketload of people can be blamed, including the players. Five names specifically stand out to me when I think of guys who have massively underachieved here in 2020, so I decided to rank them.

*I’m excluding guys who’ve missed significant time due to injury (Jackson, Reagor, Ertz, Goedert, Alshon, etc.), otherwise the entire piece would just be guys on IR*

#5. Matt Pryor

A sixth-round pick in 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff routinely raved about Matt Pryor from a developmental standpoint the past few years. He made his first career start during last year’s Wild Card game against the Seahawks, and notably held his own.

This led people to believe he was a “hidden gem” of sorts.

However, Pryor has been a complete non-factor here in 2020. He couldn’t even crack the starting lineup over guys like Nate Herbig and Jack Driscoll early in the year, and has really struggled as a starting guard since then.

Jeff Stoutland has done a wonderful job developing guys like Jordan Mailata and Big V in the past, but Pryor just doesn’t seem to be trending in the right direction. Getting him out of the lineup for a returning Issac Seumalo is going to be a huge boost to the Eagles offense.
