What to watch with the Philadelphia Eagles on bye?

Normally, the bye week is the worst Sunday of the entire season. Everyone gets to watch their favorite team play after a long week at work or school, while fans of bye week teams have to wait a full 14 days instead. However, considering the state of the Philadelphia Eagles at the moment, I think a majority of the team’s fanbase is somewhat grateful to be getting a weekend off.

The team has been more painful than fun to watch as of late, and getting to just sit back and relax this Sunday as opposed to stressing over every single snap is a welcome change.

With the Philadelphia Eagles taking the weekend off (as they look to improve upon their execution and play calling), here are three games that could be worth your time in Week 9:

New York Giants (1-7) at Washington Football Team (2-5)

1:00PM ET

Believe it or not, the Giants and the “Football Team” are likely the Eagles biggest competitors for the remainder of the 2020 season. The Cowboys have completely fallen apart, and are already on their fourth QB this season. It’s hard to imagine them contending for the NFC East, so it comes down to the two other lowly NFC East rivals.

For what it’s worth, Washington did in fact beat the Eagles back in Week 1, and their defense is genuinely one of the best in the league due to their elite pass rush.

The Giants on the other hand are just completely miserable, yet they went blow-for-blow with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Monday.

Ultimately speaking, it probably doesn’t matter who wins this game. However, I would definitely prefer it if the Football Team didn’t start picking up some momentum here in the second half of the season. They definitely have the potential to push the Eagles for the division crown.
