Philadelphia Eagles: 3 predictions for Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys
By David Esser
A win prompts the Eagles to “buy”.
With the trade deadline just a few days away now, there’s been a lot of talk regarding what Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles plan to do.
Are they looking to add a linebacker? Do they want more receiving depth? Are they looking to “sell” off older veterans? Are they trying to add offensive linemen?
Whatever position they do end up targeting, I do believe that a win over Dallas prompts Roseman to pull the trigger on a trade or two. It might not be anything blockbuster (they’re not trading for Stephon Gilmore y’all), but a few cheap upgrades here and there make sense for a team in the position that the Eagles are in.
Roseman has historically never been much of a “seller” when it comes to trades, so he’s likely itching for a reason to add talent right now. Back-to-back wins over division rivals leading into the bye week is about as perfect of a reason that a GM could want.
As it’s gone with the Philadelphia Eagles this year, tonight’s game will likely be far uglier than we’d all prefer to see. With that said, a win is a win, and defeating Dallas tonight puts the Eagles one step closer to defending their NFC East crown.
