Philadelphia Eagles: 5 teams that could potentially trade for Will Parks
By David Esser
The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly shopping safety Will Parks.
With the NFL trade deadline less than a week away, reports have begun surfacing on players being made available around the league. Amongst those reports, current Philadelphia Eagles safety Will Parks has been included as someone who is on the trade block.
A Philly native, Parks was signed this past offseason to a one-year/$1.5 million contract.
Parks has played in just two games for Philadelphia thus far, as he battled with a fairly severe hamstring injury earlier in the season. The Eagles are somewhat deep at the safety position, with Rodney McLeod and Jalen Mills as the starters; while K’Von Wallace, Marcus Epps, and Rudy Ford round out the backups.

UDFA Grayland Arnold is another name who has seen some snaps at safety this season.
With the Philadelphia Eagles not necessarily being in a “win now” mindset, and Parks set to be a free agent in the offseason, Howie Roseman has decided that potentially getting a late-round draft pick for the veteran safety makes more sense for the team in the long run.
Despite all the excitement surrounding Parks’ homecoming this offseason, it appears he’s the odd man out. With that in mind, here are a handful of teams who could kick the tires of a Parks trade:
Detroit Lions
On paper, the Detroit Lions make the most sense.
Not only did GM Bob Quinn offer Parks a contract this past offseason (one bigger than what the Eagles offered him), but the Lions have emerged as “buyers” heading into this year’s deadline.
They already acquired veteran DE Everson Griffen from the Cowboys, and they could be looking to bolster their defense even further as they push for the postseason. The Lions obviously liked Parks during the summer, and they even have a few players that the Eagles could be interested in.
Backups Kerryon Johnson (RB) and Jarrad Davis (LB) make a lot of sense as guys the Lions could send over to Philly.
