The Philadelphia Eagles are now 1-4-1.

Another Sunday afternoon of pain and misery is now complete, and the Philadelphia Eagles have dropped themselves down to a lowly record of 1-4-1.

Philly fell to Baltimore by a score of 30-28, clawing all the way back towards the end of the game but failing to covert the final two-point conversion. It was a gutsy loss, but a loss nevertheless.

With the season now over a third of the way complete, here are my three takeaways from today’s L:

More from Section 215

Carson Wentz is the franchise QB, deal with it.

It took less than a quarter before Philadelphia Eagles fans began turning on Carson Wentz, and Jalen Hurts having a few splash plays here and there didn’t hurt their cause.

However, if there’s one takeaway from this Week 6 loss, it’s that Wentz is still every ounce of the franchise QB that he’s being paid to be.

Staring down backups at every single offensive position possible outside of center, Wentz still managed to drag the offense to 22 points in the fourth quarter. Throwing to guys like Jason Croom (who?), Wentz did his part against one of the best defenses in all of football.

It definitely wasn’t pretty at times, but #11’s play is definitely not the “problem” with this team at the moment. The Eagles are trotting out fourth and third stringers at multiple O-Line positions, and I’m still not sure if John Hightower is Nelson Agholor in disguise or not.

Wentz had more passing yards and more passing TDs than last year’s MVP in Lamar Jackson, and would’ve likely walked away with a victory today had Jake Elliott made his lone field goal attempt. Simply put, Wentz is still the right guy to be under center moving forward.
