Zach Ertz time with the Philadelphia Eagles may be coming to an end.

It hurts to admit it, but Zach Ertz‘ time with the Philadelphia Eagles may be coming to an abrupt end. He’s been caught up in an ugly contract dispute for the last couple of weeks, and it’s all signaling that a somewhat messy divorce could be on the way in the near future.

According to a source close to Ertz and his situation, he expects to be traded as soon as this upcoming offseason (if him and the team can’t agree upon a lucrative longterm extension). Considering just how ineffective Ertz has been in the passing game through the first five weeks of the season, that trade could very well be happening a lot sooner than expected.

It’s no secret that Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles are strapped for cash in 2021, and they have a blossoming star in Dallas Goedert ready to assume the role of TE1 moving forward. If you start connecting all those dots, the rumors of a potential Ertz trade taking place in the near future start to make a whole lot of sense.

Considering the fact that Ertz is averaging just 29 yards per game at the moment, the days of him potentially being worth a first-round pick are long, long gone. However, he’s still a solid veteran with a great reputation as being one of the more productive tight ends in all of football. The Eagles recouping a third-rounder and some change for him on the trade market seems fairly reasonable.

With all that in mind, here are five possible destinations for the disgruntled tight end:
