There are other ways the Philadelphia Eagles can “win” against the 49ers.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I really don’t see a scenario where the Philadelphia Eagles walk out of San Fran with a win here in Week 4. The team has looked like absolute crap three weeks in a row, the injury woes are only getting worse, and the coaching staff appears to have no clue what they’re doing.

The 49ers are beat up in their own regard, but they just hung 36 on the New York Giants without George Kittle. Head coach Kyle Shanahan is a master at exposing opposing team’s weaknesses, with or without elite talent on his own offense, and Sunday will probably be no different.

Nate Gerry will likely be tasked with guarding Kittle for the majority of the evening, and I don’t think I need to necessarily explain how that one is going to turn out.

Regardless of what the final score ends up being, there are still a handful of avenues in which the Eagles could walk away from the encounter with a “win”. I don’t mean a W in the win-loss column, but more so a solid performance that the team can build off of moving forward.

When you’re 0-2-1 with one of the highest payrolls in NFL history, looking for these silver linings is about the best you can do.

The Philadelphia Eagles are spiraling towards a rebuild (whether they like it or not) and snatching some solid outings from a few young players here and there should be their number one priority at the moment.
