The Philadelphia Eagles have lost yet another starting offensive lineman to injury.
Prior to the team’s Week 2 loss, I wrote about how the Philadelphia Eagles lack of depth, not the injuries, was their biggest overall roster problem. I had grown a tad tired of hearing the same old excuses tossed around when it came to players going down and there being no one ready to step up behind them. However, even I will concede that losing yet another starting offensive lineman is a tad riducuiuls.
Doug Pederson says Isaac Seumalo is going to miss some time. Likely going on injured reserve. #Eagles

The Eagles are already without Andre Dillard and Brandon Brooks for the remainder of the 2020 season, and Lane Johnson wasn’t active during the teams Week 1 loss against Washington. Doug Pederson and the Eagles were forced to play guys like Jack Driscoll and Jordan Mailata, and both likely weren’t ready for the challenge of taking on Chase Young and the rest of the Washington pass rush.
For what it’s worth, the Philadelphia Eagles offensive line looked significantly better this past Sunday. The Rams didn’t sack Carson Wentz a single time, and Aaron Donald was given fits by a gritty Eagles interior offensive line all day long.

Former UDFA and now starting RG Nate Herbig in particular looked really good (more on that later this week).
The Philadelphia Eagles will likely slide former sixth-round pick Matt Pryor over to LG for the foreseeable future, seeing as he was the one who replaced him during the Rams game. Similar to that of Herbig, Pryor held his own on Sunday, leaving some room for optimism moving forward.
Being sandwiched in between Jason Peters and Jason Kelce will undoubtedly make his life easier, and with Miles Sanders back in the mix establishing the ground game, Pryor shouldn’t have to do too much in terms of elite-level pass blocking.
You’ll likely see the Eagles coaching staff get a little creative with their blocking schemes (hopefully), as guys like Sanders and Dallas Goedert have proven to be valuable blocking weapons in the past.
Regardless of who ends up playing where on the offensive line, the challenge that Eagles O-Line coach Jeff Stoutland is being dealt with just two weeks into the season is quite large. He’s now down three starters, and the depth behind his current linemen is questionable at best. It’s been a really brutal first two weeks of NFL football in terms of injuries around the league, so there’s no telling if this is the end of Philadelphia’s injury problems either.
