DeSean Jackson has a big day.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson has 45 catches for 793 yards against Washington in his career thus far. His seven career receiving TDs against them is the most that he’s scored against one individual team across his entire football playing profession, and two of them came during last year’s Week 1 matchup.

Jackson always shows up when playing Washington, and there’s minimal reason to believe that it will be a different story this afternoon.

Despite a lot of excitement being drummed up over the Philadelphia Eagles revamped WR core this offseason, the group is still extremely inexperienced. Greg Ward and JJ Arcega-Whiteside have barely gotten their feet wet in the NFL, and rookies John Hightower and Jalen Reagor haven’t logged an actual NFL snap yet.

With so much uncertainty and inexperience at the position, Carson Wentz will likely target DJax quite a bit on the outside. Even with first-round pick Reagor surprisingly set to be active, he likely won’t be as involved as initially expected due to his shoulder injury.

On top of all that, Washington’s corners really aren’t all that eye-popping. Ronald Darby could legitimately be lining up opposite of Jackson at times, and that has to be a matchup the Eagles are looking to exploit whenever they can.
