The Philadelphia Phillies could have one more big trade up their sleeves.

Despite being a handful of games out of the playoff race at the time, Philadelphia Phillies general manager Matt Klentak did not hold back during his attempts to “buy” leading into the MLB trade deadline. He flipped two minor league pitching prospects (plus Nick Pivetta) for three major league quality relievers, and for the most part his aggressiveness has turned out to be warranted.

Heath Hembree has looked solid during his stints coming out of the bullpen thus far, and closer Brandon Workman has converted his last three save opportunities (despite all three being nail biters down to the last out).

Heading into Sunday night’s matchup, the Phillies have won their last five games, including two very important series wins against division rivals. The bats are hitting the ball hard, the starters are going deep into ballgames, and the bullpen is slowly but surely turning things around. For the most part, it’s looking the Phils are starting to catch fire at the perfect time.

With that said, it doesn’t look like Klentak intends to rest on his laurels. Rumors have been nonstop circulating that the Phillies intend to be buyers prior to Monday’s 4:00 PM deadline, and the team has been linked to some pretty big names.

Last year’s standout rookie Adam Haseley has been mentioned in possible trade talks, and former #1 overall pick Mickey Moniak was recently added to the team’s active player pool, potentially signaling a move involving the young outfielder.
