Jared Veldheer

If the Philadelphia Eagles want to add a proper “swing tackle” to their offensive line group, Jared Veldheer appears to be the best option for that specific role. Veldheer has nine years of NFL experience playing at both LT and RT, and his playing career has spanned across three different organizations.

Veldheer was a midseason addition for the Green Bay Packers last year, and he stepped in to log some crucial snaps for the team down the stretch. Veldheer played in the Packers Week 17 game against the Detroit Lions, and he also got some work during the Divisional Round.

During those two games, Veldheer didn’t allow a single sack or pressure during 58 pass-block reps. Not bad at all for a 33 year old backup.

Like previously mentioned, Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles are likely more concerned about their tackle group moving forward as opposed to their guard group. With Peters now being thrusted back to every down LT duties, the team has no-one they can rely on should Peters or Johnson miss any snaps.

Veldheer would fill that role quite perfectly, as his veteran experience and ability to play both ends of the o-line could save Carson Wentz should another one of his starting tackles go down.
