4 reasons the Philadelphia Eagles will win the NFC East in 2020
By David Esser
The Philadelphia Eagles should be favorites to control the NFC East again.
It hasn’t happened since wayyy back in 2004, but the Philadelphia Eagles are in prime position to win their division in back-to-back seasons. While it wasn’t necessarily pretty last year, they managed to grind out four wins down the stretch as they finished atop the NFC East at 9-7. With a chaotic 2020 offseason almost fully in the books, it’s time to start looking ahead to the regular season, and why our beloved birds are in as good of a spot as anyone to hang yet another banner come next offseason.
Continuity.
Without question the most important reason on this list, the Eagles are the only (yes only) team in the NFC East that is experiencing any sort of continuity this season. Each of their three division rivals shook up their coaching staff and/or team management, and considering just how wild and unpredictable the offseason turned out to be, the impact of that should not be taken lightly.

The *Washington Football Team* hired Ron Rivera (who is currently battling cancer, best of wishes to him and his family), Dallas brought in former Packers signal caller Mike McCarthy, and the Giants hired a possible psychopath in Joe Judge. All three have to implement their systems and schemes in a shortened offseason with no preseason, and all three have to get on the same page with their quarterbacks.
On the other hand, the Philadelphia Eagles will be returning all three main pillars to their football team: Howie Roseman, Doug Pederson, and Carson Wentz. Despite what people may say at times, all three are legitimately top 5-10 talents at their respective jobs. When combined, it gives the Eagles some of the best leadership in all of football.
Having that sort of structure and continuity will prove monumental for Philadelphia this year.
