2020 is a rather unconventional year.

For some, extended periods of quarantine has been a waking nightmare filled with insecurity, poor earing habits, and social isolation (hello), while others have, somehow, used the time productively to learn a new skill and expand their digital cache.

That’s right, side hustles in digital media aren’t just for nerds with laptops and too much time on their hands anymore, now your favorite professional athletes are getting in on the action.

More from Section 215

From Bryce Harper’s twitch channel to Zach (and Julie) Ertz’s Tik Toks, and more significantly, Matisse Thybulle‘s much-heralded Youtube vlog series that has been highlighted by everyone from Jimmy Fallon to Good Morning America, Philly fans looking to see what their favorite athletes are up to have been given a front-row seat without having to even change out of their sweatpants.

And now, with the NFL season four weeks away and counting, Philadelphia Eagles‘ rookie fourth-round pick K’Von Wallace is getting in on the action.

That right, as of today, 8/16/20, Wallace has officially dipped his toe in the Youtube game with his first official video on the aptly named the ‘K’Von Wallace‘ channel. The video, a 3-minute highlight reel of sorts, is titled “Philly… I’m here.” and believe you me, if you aren’t hyped for this dude to take the field for the Birds in whatever capacity he’s awarded next month, then we just can’t be friends, sorry.

Unpopular sidebar: Clemson’s all purple uniforms with the white-striped orange helmets might just be the coolest look in college football. So clean, so crisp.

Though we don’t technically know what to expect from Wallace’s channel moving forward, whether he’ll turn his attention to vlogs, athletic skits, or even venture into the world of semi-scripted short-form comedy a la Curb Your Enthusiasm, it’s almost unfathomable to imagine that the 23-year-old Virginia native’s channel only has 351 subscribers as of the time of publishing.

Come on Philly fans, Wallace deserves better.

So drop what you are doing, watch (or at least save for later) K’Von Wallace’s first official video and bask in the pride of knowing that the Philadelphia Eagles landed a good one in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. And hey, K’Von, if you ever find yourself in need of a writer for some scripted work, you know where to find me.
