Philadelphia Eagles RG Brandon Brooks has gotten himself into insane shape this summer.

While he might not be able to play football for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020, offensive guard Brandon Brooks has clearly been wasting zero time when it comes to getting in shape for 2021. Despite tearing his achilles just a few weeks ago (his third major injury in two years), Brooks hasn’t  slowed down in the slightest when it comes to his workouts.

During an Instagram picture he posted from Balance Studios HQ, Brooks showcased a physique more similar to that of a pro bodybuilder than an offensive lineman.

Since signing for the Eagles back in 2016, Brooks has been one of the team’s best overall players. He played a crucial role during the team’s Super Bowl run in 2017, and has been selected to the Pro Bowl three consecutive seasons in a row.

Brooks graded out as one of the highest rated offensive lineman in the league last year, and according to PFF, he was actually the best all around offensive player in the NFC East (PFF grade of 92.9). He allowed just one sack throughout the entire season, and hasn’t recorded a false start since 2016.

After retuning from a separate Achilles injury in remarkable speed last year, Brooks was consistently one of the most valuable players to the Eagles on any given Sunday. Doug Peterson would frequently design run plays to the right side, and Brooks was obviously elite in the passing game.

Just a few games into the season and the Eagles decided to reward Brooks for his stellar play. The former Houston Texan was inked to a four-year $52 million contract extension, making him the highest paid offensive guard in the league.

Unfortunately for Brooks, the injury bug failed to elude him this past offseason. During a simple training exercise, he popped his left achilles (he injured his right achilles in 2018). Brooks underwent surgery soon thereafter, his second major surgery in a matter of months (shoulder), ruling him out for the entirety of the 2020 season.

Like previously mentioned, Brooks hasn’t let his injury woes get in the way of him staying in shape. He’s looking absolutely jacked, and this likely bodes well for his return in 2021. The Eagles owe Brooks a healthy amount of money going forward, and would obviously prefer if he came back at the same elite level he’s been playing at since 2016.
