According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Philadelphia Eagles have now officially agreed to terms with rookie wide receiver Jalen Reagor. The deal is a standard four-year deal worth $13.3 million, with a fifth-year team option obviously included as well. Reagor flew to Philly from Dallas on Sunday, and then signed his contract following the completion of a team mandated physical.

The Eagles were desperate for some receiving help this offseason, and settled in on former TCU speedster Reagor as the solution. The team was heavily linked with Justin Jefferson heading into the draft, but opted for the better deep threat in Reagor instead.

Through three seasons at TCU Reagor recorded 148 catches, 2,248 receiving yards and 22 receiving touchdowns. He also put up 324 yards and two touchdowns in the rushing game as well.

Despite struggling during the combine’s 40-yard dash, Reagor is an absolute speed demon on the field. The 5-11 wide receiver recorded a top speed of 22.60 MPH during a game last year, just 0.04 less than Tyreke Hill’s top speed of 22.64.

Reagor has also shown some serious catching ability during at the collegiate level, as he recorded 27 contested catches during his time at TCU. Reagor routinely struggled with below average quarterback play, and it showed as he was consistently forced to make tough catches. Reagor led all first-round wide receivers in the contested catch department.

Despite being a rookie, the Eagles are likely expecting a lot from Reagor in 2020. The team is still arguably quite weak in the WR room, with injury-related question marks hanging over most of their veterans. Reagor will likely be exclusively trained as an outside receiving threat this year, with the goal of taking over DeSean Jackson’s role in the offensive moving forward.

Reagor has shown a great love towards the city of Philadelphia ever since being drafted, which makes perfect sense considering his father played for the team. Expectations are no doubt high for the rookie wideout heading into the season, but if he plays like he did at TCU, he should have no problem living up to them.
