Three free agents the Philadelphia Eagles could still sign

Vinny Curry would sure up the Eagles’ depth on the defensive line.
The Philadelphia Eagles tend to struggle when it comes to “letting go” of aging players. Look no further than the re-signing of 38 years old Jason Peters that just took place. With that said, there definitely can be some serious value to bringing back the odd familiar face, especially in a season where new players didn’t have OTAs to get up to speed.
Vinny Curry played a crucial role as a starter during the Eagles Super Bowl winning season in 2017, and then returned to the franchise last year as an extremely impactful substitute pass rusher. Playing in all 16 games during the 2019 season, Curry recorded five sacks, five TFLs, and 12 quarterback hits.
I mentioned Griffen earlier in this article, and I highlighted the importance of depth on the defensive line when it comes to the Eagles and Jim Schwartz’ scheme.

Currently, the Eagles backup defensive ends consist of Josh Sweat, Daeshon Hall, Shareef Miller, and Joe Ostman. While Sweat showed serious signs of development last year, there are major question marks regarding the rest of the mentioned players.
All offseason long the Eagles have been linked to the likes of Griffen, Clowney, and Ngakoue, however if they opt to go for a cheaper route, simply bringing back Curry would make a ton of sense. Not only is Curry still an above average defensive end, but he knows the Eagles system in and out.
Curry wouldn’t be the flashiest of signings considering all the big-time names Philly has been linked to this offseason, but he would provide much needed depth to the roster.
Ultimately the Eagles would probably prefer if Miller or Sweat turned into that elite sub edge rusher, but if they don’t, having Curry to fall back on would be quite the luxury.
