Boston Scott is a 5-star guy in this Philadelphia Eagles fan’s opinion.

What do you do when you’re a 25-year-old soon-to-be-sophomore running back with only one year of NFL payday under your belt, trapped inside during an international pandemic for the summer with no guarantee football returns on time this fall?

Well, if you’re Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott, you make a Cameo.

Now as you may or may not know, Cameo is a platform that allows regular, ordinary folks like you and me to pay people of some level of prominence to deliver a personalized video greeting of your choosing.

More from Section 215

For, say, $425, you can have Sussie from Curb Your Enthusiasm wish your grandma a happy birthday. For $150, you can have Brett ‘The Hitman’ Hart threaten your child to actually log onto his online classes. And for $50 you, me, or anyone we collectively know can buy a bit of Boston Scott’s time.

Now to be fair, Scott isn’t the only member of the Philadelphia Eagles on Cameo. Technically, there are close to 30 current or former Birds on the service, including everyone from All-Timers like Brian Dawkins and Donovan McNabb for hundreds of dollars to current players like JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Nickel Robey-Coleman for under $30. Brandon Graham is on the service, as is Jalen Hurts, and even Eagles-adjacent personalities like EDP445.

With no up-front start-up costs, or need for fancy equipment, the idea of paying a public figure for a few minutes of their time is actually a pretty interesting business oppertunity to pick up some extra cash while the sports world is stuck on hold.

And to be fair, $50 is actually a pretty decent bargain for Scott’s services, as he was a pivotal piece of the Eagles’ 2019 offense and looks primed to have an even more expansive role this fall, but apparently, everyone isn’t a massive fan of the former LA Tech Bulldogs’ personalized greeting service. Apparently, some people don’t find Scott to be a 5-star guy.

As referenced on a recent Instagram story, Scott has an average rating of 4.9 on Cameo. After combing through his 49 reviews – ironically the same number he initially wore with the Eagles – this is because one former customer gave the Baton Rouge native a 1 star, claiming his review was neither personal nor relevant to the person’s request.

Scott’s response? ‘Whoever didn’t give me 5 stars I hope you stub your pinky toe on the foot of ya bed.’

Sick burn.

Now, for the sake of journalistic integrity, I have to disclose I didn’t reach out to Boston Scott’s lone sub-5-star review for comment. For all I know, Scott really did phone that one in, but that isn’t really what this is about. No, this is more of a public service announcement that 1. Boston Scott is on Cameo (as are a ton of other Philadelphia Eagles) and 2. if you procure his services, please give him 5 stars – Philadelphia is called the City of Brotherly Love for a reason, after all.
