4. Lions

Back in the offseason after seeing how things played out last year for the Lions, a Week 3 meeting at home almost seemed like a dream matchup for the Eagles.

Instead, Philadelphia learned the hard way that Detroit deserves to be in the conversation of being one of the top threats in the NFC, meaning they deserve to be on this list along with the other teams.

Technically, since the Lions tied opening weekend against the Arizona Cardinals, Matt Patricia‘s squad is still undefeated heading into Week 4, and is starting to catch the attention from the other contenders across the conference.

During Sunday’s loss, it was unbelievable to take into consideration that Philadelphia failed to record any sacks or turnovers on Matthew Stafford, showing how much credit the offensive line of the Lions deserves for their impressive level of play.

Does this mean that Detroit has what it takes to continue this success over the next few months, and actually earn one of the playoff spots in the NFC?

The Lions still have plenty to prove since teams like the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings will make the division race even more interesting, but this shouldn’t take away from their impressive start.
