4. Moving on from Wisniewski right call

Despite re-signing with the Eagles back in May on a favorable one-year deal, Stefen Wisniewski seemed to be a potential surprise candidate to be part of Saturday’s roster cuts, which turned out to be exactly the case.

More from Section 215

Between losing his starting job in the middle of last season on top of the fact that Philadelphia originally parted ways with the veteran earlier in the offseason before re-signing him, Wisniewski seemed like one of those players the team could easily move on from.

It would be one thing if Wisniewski had made a strong case for himself in recent weeks to have a significant role on the Eagles during the 2019 season, but unfortunately he just couldn’t figure out a way to separate himself from the rest of the competition.

More than ever, protecting Carson Wentz is going to be a top priority for the offensive line of the Eagles since the last thing they can afford is to watch their beloved quarterback experience another year of injuries.

The chance was always there for Wisniewski to put the unit in better position to make this happen, but when looking at some of the other players who survived cuts, Philadelphia seemed to make the right move here.
