While he may no longer be a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Beau Allen’s appearance on Bar Rescue was must-watch television for fans in the 215.

If you happened to tune into the latest episode of Bar Rescue on Paramount Network, you might have noticed a familiar face on Jon Taffer’s recon team; ex-Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Beau Allen.

Posting up with his current Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates Cameron Brate and Ali Marpet,  Allen ordered a Caesar wrap at the ‘New England Alehouse Grille’ to highlight the bar’s slow service and inability to get things going, and accomplished that feat with flying colors.

After waiting 31 minutes for his order, Taffer regrouped with the Bucs big uglies and ‘shut it down’.

Wow, I never thought I’d be breaking down an episode of Bar Rescue on an Eagles blog, but alas, here we are; 2019 everyone.

Now things weren’t all fun and games for Allen, as the 6-foot-3, 327-pound defensive tackle didn’t return to try out the food at the rebranded ‘Das Brauhaus’, signifying either a lack of trust in Taffer’s abilities to save the bar, or, you know, being a busy NFL player, but regardless of whether he ever tries out the Palm Harbor, Florida establishment, but still it was fun to watch a former Eagle get a little shine on national television.

Hopefully, this minor star-making appearance will translate onto the field for Allen in his second season in Tampa Bay.

After failing to have his contract extended after the 2017 NFL season, Allen slid into a part-time role with the Bucs alongside fellow former Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Vinny Curry, earning eight starts over 14 appearances on Mike Smith, and later Mark Duffner‘s defensive front.

However, after playing in a familiar attacking 4-3 front in 2018, Allen will have to translate back to his ‘natural’ position at nose tackle, presumably backing up 2017 first round pick Vita Vea in longtime Jets’ head coach-turned-Bucs’ defensive coordinator Todd Bowles‘ 3-4 front.

Next. Wait, is Kiko Alonso good now?. dark

And hey, maybe things won’t work out for Allen, and he’ll go the way of Gerald McCoy as the Buccaneers attempt to fill out their roster with better scheme fits. If that does happen, I’m sure there will always be a spot for the pass-rushing tackle in the City of Brotherly Love. Who knows, maybe he can even help to rescue a few bars alongside Jon Taffer as well?
