Round 4: South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel

Since the Mike Wallace experiment failed to work out due to injury, and the veteran isn’t getting any younger, the Eagles could look to the draft to add some depth to the wide receiver position.

With Philadelphia having a decent group of receivers to work with led by Alshon Jeffery, wide receiver isn’t as big of a need as other positions, but also keep in mind the team is unsure of whether Golden Tate will return to the team.

After acquiring Tate from the Detroit Lions in the middle of the 2018 season, the Eagles knew there was a chance he would end up being a one-year rental, although they would love to bring him back at the right price.

Depending on what happens with these two veterans, the middle of the draft could be where Philadelphia looks to add another playmaker at receiver. After three decent seasons at South Carolina, Deebo Samuel finally had the breakout season the Gamecocks were waiting for by hauling in 62 catches for 882 yards to go along with 11 trips into the end zone.

Samuel brings the kind of route-running ability the Eagles would love to work with on offense, and what would make this selection even more exciting is the fact that as a rookie, he could benefit form playing alongside one of the top receivers in Jeffery.
