Round 2: Kentucky RB Benny Snell Jr.

Back when the Eagles managed to win their first Super Bowl title in franchise history during the 2017 season, one of the main reasons behind their success was due to a strong ground game in which they rotated numerous running backs.

In fact, the approach taken by Doug Pederson seemed to be riding the hot hand at running back most games, and while this approach didn’t exactly work this past season as a result of all the injuries, at least Philadelphia can push to return to that routine.

As much as the Eagles would love to bring Jay Ajayi back for another year, there are some concerns surrounding his history of injuries, and it certainly doesn’t help to see the running back still recovering from a torn ACL.

If Philadelphia were to move on from Ajayi, this really wouldn’t come as a surprise one bit, and the draft seems like the perfect opportunity to bring some fresh legs on board, which is where Benny Snell Jr. could come into play.

Watching Snell rush for 3,873 yards to go along with 48 touchdowns during three seasons with the Wildcats shows just how special of a running back Kentucky had on offense, and it seems like only a matter of time before he’s making a similar impact at the NFL level.

Even if Snell were to share carries with other Philadelphia running backs, as long as ground game returned to their effective level from a few years ago, this is all that Pederson would really care about.
