3. Washington Redskins

Speaking of the Redskins, one can only imagine how different the results of this season would have been if the team didn’t deal with so many issues at the quarterback position.

Watching Alex Smith’s career end up being in jeopardy has been absolutely devastating to see when looking at how the former No. 1 pick has always been one of the most respected players in all of football.

Originally, Washington was in a difficult position last offseason since they knew that Kirk Cousins returning was highly unlikely after using the franchise tag on him two years in a row. But now that Smith’s future is uncertain, the Redskins have some exploring to do this offseason when it comes to figuring out the quarterback position.

Before Smith went down, the Redskins were in strong position to finish on top of the NFC East, and one can only imagine how different the end results would have been in December if he were still healthy.

At least for the 2019 season, Washington should feel confident about their chances in returning to the level of being a contender once they figure out their quarterback issues, whether it happens to be Foles or someone else under center.
