3. Houston Texans

Isn’t it crazy to think how the Houston Texans seemed like a lost cause in September when seeing how they lost each of their first three games? Since then, the Texans have become one of the hottest teams in the NFL by winning nine games in a row while continuing to find new ways to make a statement about being a top team to beat in the AFC.

Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns seemed easier than some of their previous victories, as the defense took advantage of simple mistakes by rookie Baker Mayfield, but also it’s good to see Houston handle the pressure of their impressive winning streak. As crazy as it sounds, there’s even reason to believe the Texans could win out when looking at their schedule, and if that does happen to be the case, this could be the last team anyone wants to play in January.

Between Deshaun Watson continuing to shine on offense along with the defense stepping it up in a big way, Houston arguably has one of the top overall teams in the league. But before getting too comfortable, the Texans need to focus on earning a first-round bye to give them an even better advantage come playoff time.
