NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles keep hope alive in Week 13
29. Oakland Raiders
Are the Oakland Raiders the worst team in the NFL? Probably, but Jon Gruden can’t even tank correctly.
After dropping five straight games following a surprise win over the Cleveland Browns back in September, the Raiders un-victorious streak came to a roaring halt in Week 11, when the Raiders sucker punched the Arizona Cardinals in a surprise 23-21 victory.
Fortunately for the team, they rebounded in Week 12 with a clutch to the Baltimore Ravens in (un)impressive fashion, giving up 34 to Louisville Cardinal phenom Lamar Jackson in only his second professional start.
However, it may have been too little too late for Chucky and Raidernation.
Though the team does sit at 2-9, tied for the worst record in the league, that win over Arizona very well could result in the Raiders’ losing a pre-draft tiebreaker and formfitting the top overall selection to the Cardinals.
Now granted, the Cards don’t really need a quarterback after selecting Josh Rosen in last year’s draft, but still, if your plan is to lose games and secure the top pick in the draft, that has to be looked at as an unmitigated failure for the Raiders, essentially leaving the city of Oakland with a bad taste in their mouth upon their exit.
