NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles keep hope alive in Week 13
21. Cleveland Browns
This may be a bold claim, but the Cleveland Browns are no longer the worst team in the AFC North, let alone the NFL.
While it may seem incredibly unlikely that a team could fire their head coach and offensive coordinator mid-season and actually get better, so far, that appears to be the case.
With the team’s quarterbacks coach recently elevated to offensive coordinator, the Browns have tailor-made a new offensive scheme around Baker Mayfield’s improvisational playing style, and are riding high on a two-game win streak as a result.
And the best part? The team actually marched into the Jungle of Cincinnati and beat their former head coach in a fierce divisional rivalry bout.
Will Hue Jackson be the next head coach of the Bengals? Who knows, but at this point, he’s no longer the Browns’ problem.
With a new head coach and maybe even a new coaching staff right around the corner, the Browns should look at each win this season as a step in the right direction towards a continued rebuild, with Mayfield and company growing more and more confident with each passing week.
With a postseason berth off the table, that’s a pretty good measuring stick for a successful season if you ask me.
