5. Chicago Bears

Despite entering Sunday night being winners in each of their previous three games, the Chicago Bears knew they were going to face quite the challenge when hosting the Minnesota Vikings, especially since the winner would be in first place all alone heading into Week 12. Mitch Trubisky didn’t exactly have the best game after tossing two interceptions, but luckily he led the offense just enough to help the Bears pull off the win to improve to 7-3 along with increasing their lead in the NFC North.

In what shouldn’t come as a surprise at all, Chicago’s defense deserves plenty of credit once again for creating constant pressure on Kirk Cousins all night, as the unit continues to make a strong case for being one of the top units in the league. Even when the game was close in the fourth quarter, the Bears were thrilled to see Eddie Jackson return an interception 27 yards for the touchdown to put the team in better position to hang on for the win.

Chicago was viewed as one of the potential sleeper teams to keep an eye on in the NFC at the beginning of the regular season, and it’s been amazing to watch Matt Nagy find this much success during his first year as head coach. The Bears still have plenty of work to do the rest of the way, but they have to love their chances of securing a playoff spot over the next couple of weeks, assuming there are no setbacks.
