NFL Power Rankings, Week 12: Eagles fall to Saints in embarrassing fashion
By Dan Parzych
12. Dallas Cowboys
A few weeks ago, Jason Garrett found his name on the hot seat once again with the Dallas Cowboys when seeing how many times the team let key games simply slip away, and result in losses. Thanks to back-to-back wins over the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons on the road along with some help from the Washington Redskins losing, the Cowboys are all of a sudden one-game back of first place in the division.
When looking at how weak the NFC East in general is turning out to be, Dallas knows that finishing on top is certainly capable of happening, especially after Washington received the unfortunate news that Alex Smith would be out for the remainder of the season. Coincidentally, the Cowboys will square off against the Redskins in a few days when the two teams meet on Thanksgiving in what should turn out to be another classic showdown.
The Cowboys know they can’t afford to lose to the Redskins for a second time if they want any shot at winning the division, but at least their recent streak of two wins gives them favorable odds to earn the victory this time. After Ezekiel Elliott torched Atlanta for 201 scrimmage yards to go along with a touchdown, expect Dallas to heavily rely on their star running back once again to help take down Washington.
