Karl Joseph (Oakland Raiders)

It was first reported by Jay Glazer and then NBC Sports Philadelphia that the Raiders are shopping former first-round pick and safety Karl Joseph. Coach Jon Gruden, who handed his top pass-rushing threat to the Chicago Bears, is looking to give away another key component to his struggling Raiders defense.

If the Eagles can take advantage of the Raiders struggles to land a first round talent, I wouldn’t feel guilty in the slightest. Joseph is a tackling machine and could give a lesson or two to the current Eagles secondary (minus Malcolm Jenkins) on how to properly take an offender to the ground.

Not only is he an impressive tackler, he knows how to back up his corners in the zone and is capable of generating turnovers. He’s only 25 years old and there is a bright future ahead. He is getting over a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the past three games but is still worth trading for a few draft picks.

It may take time for him to adjust to Jim Schwartz’s system, Joseph would solidify the safety position and allow rookie Avonte Maddox to move back to corner, his natural position.
