Philadelphia Eagles: 4 running back trade rumors following Jay Ajayi injury
By Dan Parzych
1. Le’Veon Bell
Over the last couple of weeks, rumors have been swirling over the possibility of the Eagles acquiring Bell through a trade after the Pittsburgh Steelers made it clear they would consider offers. Even after the recent reports surrounding Bell expected to show up to the Steelers in the next couple of weeks after holding out all this time, this doesn’t mean they won’t consider any offers on the table.
Think about how this mess with Bell in Pittsburgh dates back to last season with the running back fighting for a long-term deal while the team decided to use the franchise tag on him for a second year in a row instead. Sooner or later, Bell is going to receive that deal he’s been fighting for, but whether it’s going to be from the Steelers is a completely different story.
In other words, Pittsburgh realizes that moving on from Bell right now may be best for both parties, especially since James Conner is turning out be quite the nice fit on offense. So if the Eagles truly believe that Bell would be a great fit for the long run, it will be interesting to see how much of a push, if any at all, they make on the unhappiest member of the Steelers at the moment.
