4. Mark Ingram

First off, let the record show that of all the running backs mentioned as potential trade targets for the Eagles to fill in for Ajayi, Mark Ingram has basically been mentioned as a “dream scenario” for most fans, although acquiring the New Orleans Saints running back does make sense in a way. Ingram returned to action on Monday following a four-game suspension, and wasted no time making an impact for the Saints during their impressive win over the Washington Redskins, finding the end zone twice while finishing with 53 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Take Ingram’s impact along with the fact that New Orleans also has another running back that is a nightmare for opponents in Alvin Kamara, it’s easy to see why the Saints arguably have one of the most dangerous duos in the backfield. But when it comes to the long run, there’s no guarantee that Ingram will be around beyond the 2018 season.

Since Ingram is in the final year of his contract, New Orleans will have to make a decision at some point over whether it’s worth paying him a hefty new deal, or if it would be best to move on since they would still be in great shape having Kamara. If the Saints wanted to jump the gun by getting something in return for Ingram through a trade, this would almost seem like a no brainer for the Eagles when it comes to seeing the asking price.
