1. Golden State Warriors

After 30 slides and literally thousands of words, was there really any doubt as to who would be the top team in this preseason NBA power rankings? It was, is, and probably always will be the Golden State Warriors.

For the foreseeable future, this is the Warriors league and we are all just living in it, desperately hoping some ragtag bunch of young upstarts find a way to slay Goliath and bring some parody back to the league.

Simply put: 2019’s free agency period simply can’t come soon enough.

With their big five of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, and Philly’s favorite former son Andre Iguodala all back for another campaign together and a fifth All-Star in DeMarcus Cousins waiting in the wings recovering from a late-season torn Achilles, the Warriors may not only once again lap the 1993 Bulls for the best record in basketball, but plow through the playoffs without a loss yet again.

In a world where dynasties are harder and harder to cultivate, the Warriors have somehow found a way to keep their team together and consistently get better with each passing year. While they may play in front of tech bros in a swiftly gentrifying Silicon Vally stadium, the Warriors are the cream of the NBA’s crop and will go down in history as one of the best teams of all time. Regardless of the ridicule, the Warriors deserve every bit of praise they have and will continue to receive moving forward, even if they have to do it without Swaggy P.
