2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 6: Eagles lose tough battle of NFC Championship rematch
By Dan Parzych
9. Minnesota Vikings
Revenge was on the minds of the Minnesota Vikings heading into Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles when seeing how things ended up last January in the NFC Championship. And even though the winner this time around didn’t go on to play in the Super Bowl, the Vikings still felt amazing after defeating the Eagles in front of their own fans while picking up that second win of the season in the process.
Even though Case Keenum was the quarterback when these two teams last met in January, Minnesota knew they would have an extra advantage with Kirk Cousins instead when looking at his history against the defending champions. Numbers wise, Cousins didn’t exactly have the biggest performance after only throwing for 301 yards with a touchdown, but the most important factor of all is this was still enough to earn the Vikings a tough win.
On another note, Minnesota clearly has something special at wide receiver in Adam Thielen after watching him put together another 100-yard performance after catching seven passes for 116 yards to go along with the lone touchdown catch from Cousins. Believe it or not, Thielen made NFL history by starting off the season with five games in a row of 100+ receiving yards, showing just how special of a player he truly is.
