2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 6: Eagles lose tough battle of NFC Championship rematch

12. Los Angeles Chargers
When looking at all of the close calls and missed opportunities the Los Angeles Chargers have been dealing with so far in 2018, the team knew they couldn’t afford a loss at home to the Oakland Raiders. Luckily, it wasn’t even an issue for the Chargers since this game was well over by the time halftime rolled around, and it’s great to see Los Angeles entering Week 6 with a 3-2 record.
In previous seasons, the Chargers have seen poor starts to the regular season come back to haunt them down the road, including last year when they fell just short of reaching the playoffs, despite being one of the hottest teams to close out 2017. This time around though, Los Angeles seems to be working their way towards being one of the top teams to beat in the AFC, and when looking at how Philip Rivers seems to be clicking with some of his teammates on offense, it’s tough to disagree.
Along with the impressive play on the end of Rivers, Melvin Gordon continues to make a case towards making his way to being one of the top running backs in the league after finding the end zone for a fourth game in a row. Winning the division may be difficult when looking at how great the Kansas City Chiefs are playing, but the Chargers could be one of the top contenders for a Wild Card spot.
