2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 6: Eagles lose tough battle of NFC Championship rematch

18. Houston Texans
First off, the argument can be made that Sunday night’s game never should have gone into overtime when looking at all of the missed opportunities by the Houston Texans whenever they were in the red zone against the Dallas Cowboys. Clearly, the Texans need to come up with some better play calling when that close to the end zone since settling for field goals instead of touchdowns could come back to haunt them, like it almost did in Week 5.
Houston should consider themselves lucky for escaping with the win thanks to another strong performance by DeAndre Hopkins (nine catches for 151 yards), but most importantly, this team should be fired up after winning two games in a row. All of a sudden, the race in the AFC South just became a little more interesting for the Texans after receiving help from across the league with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans both losing on Sunday.
After dealing with all of those injuries last year, Houston was expected to bounce back as a strong contender in the AFC, but losing their first three games of 2018 was the last thing this team had in mind. But thanks to winning two in a row, the Texans are now only one game back of the division lead, which is completely fine at this point in October.
