3. Jacksonville Jaguars

With the defense of the Jacksonville Jaguars continuing to play at a high level along with Blake Bortles seeing players like Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook step up, this is going to be a difficult team to beat in the AFC. Playing without Leonard Fournette seemed like it would put the Jaguars at a major disadvantage against the New England Patriots, but that wasn’t the case one bit for the defending AFC South champions.

After losing the AFC Championship the way they did last January, all Jacksonville wanted to do on Sunday was prove they were capable of taking down New England, and they did. By defeating one of the early favorites to make a run at the Super Bowl, the Jaguars made a statement of their own when it comes to being a top contender as well.

Jacksonville’s defense was the main reason behind the team’s playoff run last season, but the offense could be the main difference maker in 2018. Bortles was facing a ton of pressure to show he was the right answer for the Jaguars under center, and seeing him toss four touchdown passes against the Patriots will certainly boost his confidence throughout the rest of the regular season.
