5. Atlanta Falcons

Finding the end zone was a major concern for the Atlanta Falcons when looking at all of the missed opportunities during their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the team deserves credit for coming through in Week 2. Facing the Carolina Panthers with one of the top overall teams in the NFL was going to be a difficult challenge for the Falcons, but luckily Matt Ryan stepped up in a big way.

While throwing for two touchdowns against Carolina’s defense was impressive, seeing Ryan surprise a lot of football fans by rushing for two touchdowns as well shows how big of a game the former Boston College star put together. Two years ago, Ryan took home MVP honors for the first time in his career, and if there’s any chance of the Falcons quarterback returning to that level, it’s only going to help their case once the winter rolls around.

Not even the absence of Devonta Freeman slowed down this offense for Atlanta, as the team knew it was going to be difficult at first to adjust without their star running back, but also felt confident in other players picking up the slack. Up next, the Falcons will face another difficult task in the New Orleans Saints, which always tends to be an epic showdown.
