1. Claude Giroux-Sean Couturier-Travis Konecny

Dave Hakstol used this line combination last season and it proved to be very effective. The Giroux, Sean Couturier, and Travis Konecny line had the highest Goals-For Per 60 Minutes, the third highest Goals-For percentage (GF%), and fourth highest Corsi-for percentage (CF%) among Flyers lines that played at least 100 minutes on the ice together at even strength, per Corsica Hockey.

This line combination was also responsible for the emergence of Konecny in the middle of the season. Konecny had just 11 points in 37 games prior to his eventual pairing with Giroux and Couturier. In the following 44 games, Konecny raked up 36 points with 20 goals and 16 assists. Receiving more ice time and being paired with elite level talents like Giroux and Couturier helped Konecny shine.

This line had immediate chemistry when Hakstol put them together. The trio seemed to like playing with each other right from the get-go. I’d be very interested to see what this line could do if they played more time together, even with having the highest Time On Ice of any Flyers line last season.

This wasn’t the most impactful top line the Flyers iced last season, though.
