The Philadelphia 76ers put on a show in their March 16th 120-116 trouncing of the Brooklyn Nets, and boy was it fun to watch!
Whether it be Ben Simmons becoming only the third rookie in NBA history to record 1000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a season, a disappointing showing by ex-Sixer Jahlil Okafor, or Joel Embiid owning the Nets to the tune of 24 points and a career high19 rebounds, this was a truly impressive victory, and it couldn’t have happened on a better day.
In addition to being a Friday, which is always cool, and the day before St. Patty’s day, March 16th was also Joel Embiid’s 24th birthday and what a birthday it was.
For a player who missed the better part of three straight seasons due to a plethora of unfortunate injuries, it’s amazing to watch Embiid record double-doubles with regularity.

At only 24, Embiid hasn’t even entered his prime yet and could continue to develop into one of the best centers in NBA history.
