After Joel Embiid lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a pair of wins in Hollywood, could the team get revenge on the reigning world champs on their home court?

The Philadelphia 76ers are on a roll.

After losing in embarrassing fashion to the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena in Oakland by a score of 135-114, the Sixers traveled south to Los Angeles and put on an absolute show in Hollywood.

In their two night stay at the Staple Center, Joel Embiid and the 76ers took a major step forward in establishing themselves as one of the most exciting shows on court, and could eventually become the new beast of the East.

Seriously, in only two games Embiid put up 78-points, 31-rebounds, 9-assists, and 8-steals in front of the likes of Kevin Hart, Floyd Mayweather, and Adam Levine, and officially put the rest of the league on notice.

So as Brett Brown‘s squad now returns home for their longest homestand of the season so far, could the now, white-hot Sixers ride this momentum into a win against the reigning world champs?

In arguably the hottest tickets of the year, the 76ers will be facing off against the Warriors for one night only at the Wells Fargo Center in a game that should serve as a serious measuring stick for a team who has been seriously coming on as of late.

When you couple this recent success with the lingering thigh injury that superstar Steph Curry has been dealing with ever since his team’s last matchup against coach Brown’s squad, the 76ers may actually have a shot.

In the Warriors’ most recent game against the Boston Celtics, Curry was held to a season-low nine points in 31-minutes of action, while only completing 22-percent of his nine three-point shots. This inefficiency caused Steve Kerr‘s squad to score a paltry 88-points and ultimately delivered the team their first L since October.

So the Warriors recent struggles, when coupled with the virtual unstoppableness of Embiid as of late, could give the Sixers a fighting chance in front of their home crowd.

As highlighted in their previous game earlier this season, the Warriors really have no answer for a player with Embiid’s skillset, with both Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee struggling to contain the former Jayhawk even in limited action.

With Embiid now playing arguably the best basketball of his career, it’ll be incredibly interesting to see how he and his partner in crime, Ben Simmons, will face off against the likes of Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and former-Sixer Andre Iguodala.

Simply put, this game will be an incredibly good measuring stick to see just how much this 76ers team has grown over the last few weeks, and with a little luck, could become the signature win of the Brett Brown-era.
