Philadelphia Eagles need to continue using Corey Clement more on offense
By Dan Parzych
Rookie running back Corey Clement came up big for the Philadelphia Eagles during their 51-23 win over the Denver Broncos in Week 9 with three total touchdowns.
Facing a high-level defense in the Denver Broncos was supposed to be a major challenge for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, but when looking at how quickly this game got out of hand, that was far from the case. Watching the Eagles make another major statement with their 51-23 blowout win over the Broncos to give the team a 8-1 record heading into their bye week shows how special this team truly is, and there are numerous reasons as to why.

For example, a few months ago, nobody would have predicted in a million years that rookie Corey Clement would be making the kind of impact he’s made after the former Wisconsin star displayed the best performance of his young career against the Broncos on Sunday. Not only was Clement effective on the ground with 51 rushing yards to go along with two touchdowns on 12 carries, but the rookie also added another touchdown through the air, giving him three total on the day.
With Philadelphia all of a sudden having a crowded backfield due to Jay Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount leading the way following last week’s trade with the Miami Dolphins, many assumed that Clement would end up being the odd-man out from a production standpoint. But after seeing how deadly this offense of the Eagles can be when all three players are rolling, Doug Pederson needs to continue taking advantage of this new trio once the team returns from their bye week, especially when it comes to Clement.

Keep in mind that Clement was originally seen as a long shot to earn a spot on the 53-man roster after joining the team in May as an undrafted free agent. So to see Pederson continue to use him more over the last two games shows Clement may turn out to be one of the hidden gems when it comes to offseason signings, and hopefully he continues this surprise success during the final stretch since Philadelphia will need all of the help they can get when it comes to battling for that top seed in the NFC.
