Philadelphia Eagles: 3 keys to victory over Washington
By Jake Starr
1. Make the plays that win tight games
Divisional games are always tight; no matter how good or bad each team is. We saw it against the Giants where the Eagles won by a 61-yard, game-winning field goal. In a game where two of the best teams in the NFC going at it, with serious playoff implications on the line, this game has the looks of a real shootout.
This is a matchup that many expect to be very close, with any one thing having the potential to swing the momentum one way or the other. Whether it be a turnover, a special teams play, or a field goal, any little mistake or big play could ultimately decide the outcome of this game.
So having a kicker dynamic young kicker like Jake Elliott is definitely a plus in a game like this. But, the Eagles offense is going to have to avoid turnovers at all costs, something they have been so good at lately. On the defensive side of the ball, if Schwartz’ unit can force Cousins to throw a pick or force Washington to cough up a costly turnover could most certainly swing the game in the Eagles favor.

The Eagles may have a little more room for error in front of their home crowd, but for Washington, any mistake could hurt them vitally. If the Eagles’ defense can force that mistake, they will put themselves in a great position to win.
But at the end of the day, it’s up to Wentz and the offense to protect the football, continue to dominate in the trenches and make big plays through the air to hopefully lead the Eagles to a victory.
