The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Chiefs was not a shocker. Although, it did show us that the Eagles must improve quickly.

The Philadelphia Eagles walked into Kansas City and competed for most of the game. While they looked fairly impressive for three-quarters, the wheels came falling off as the fourth quarter progressed.

Was this a game that many expected the Philadelphia Eagles to win? No, but the Eagles played well enough to win this game, although those efforts were to later be derailed by too many miscues. From missed a field goal to turnovers, the Philadelphia Eagles seemed to let this one slip away.

While those aforementioned miscues can be pointed to as keys to the Philadelphia Eagles losing in Kansas City; this game showed us that the Birds still have issues they need to iron out. It is not the time to panic yet. But with the Giants coming to town next week these issues must be ironed out quickly.

More from Philadelphia Eagles

There were, of course, some positives to point out from this game. Carson Wentz continued to be money on intermediate routes, and Alshon Jeffery showed why the Philadelphia Eagles signed him. The defensive line was very dominant for the bulk of the game, but other than that, the Eagles have some issues that must be fixed.

The offensive line gave Wentz decent time early on. But as the Chiefs pass rushers pinned their ears back and put the pressure on Wentz, the line could not keep him upright. An area that once seemed like a strength for the Philadelphia Eagles has now turned into a huge area of concern.

While the whole offensive line has had its struggles, two players who have had the bulk of the struggles have been Isaac Seumalo and Jason Kelce. The Philadelphia Eagles seem to have a longer leash with Kelce due to his camaraderie with Wentz. But the left guard position has to be addressed.

The Philadelphia Eagles inked Chance Warmack to a deal this offseason, and it is looking like he may be finding time at that left guard spot soon.

Another issue that led to the Chiefs going all out on Carson Wentz was that they had no reason to respect the running game at all. The Philadelphia Eagles ran the ball only 17 times compared to 46 passes. Add in four Wentz runs and six sacks and that would make it a whopping 56-13 pass to run ratio. That just can not happen.

Doug Pederson has to find ways to incorporate the run or defenses are going to sell all out on the pass. All that spells is a recipe for disaster down the road, and maybe even a switch in play caller responsibilities.

LeGarrette Blount did not have one single rush at all against the Chiefs. The Eagles signed Blount to take the pressure off of Wentz, and through two games that has not been the case. The Philadelphia Eagles must find ways to involve Blount and establish the run to give this offense some balance going forward.

Next: Philadelphia Eagles: Offensive line and depth will be an issue

A loss on the road to a playoff caliber team is nothing to get worried over. But it did show us that this team is still far from perfect. And if the Philadelphia Eagles wish to take that next step and be a team playing into January, they must address those glaring issues.
