5.) Freddy Galvis – Shortstop
Freddy Galvis has been a nice piece in the Phillies middle of the infield, partnering with Cesar Hernandez. Despite only a .231 batting average, Galvis has six homeruns and 28 RBI’s which is a surprise for his physical stature. Galvis is a solid infielder and is known to make a web gem or two at shortstop. However, no matter how well Galvis does, J.P. Crawford is set to be the shortstop for the Phillies in the coming future. Crawford is starting to find his groove in Triple-A, while Galvis could be the odd-man out as the season heads toward July.

Next: Joely Rodriguez traded to Texas

Galvis, 27, is making $4,350,000 in 2017 but is set for his third year of arbitration in 2018. Galvis could be an unrestricted free agent in 2019, if the Philadelphia Phillies don’t trade him this fall. I feel Galvis would be better off looking for another team to join before July 31st. He could be a starter for some teams, but a valuable defensive option in the playoffs for others. He shows signs of power, and is a good contact hitter. With Crawford expected to come up within the next year, Galvis is another player that could be traded before August.
