As the Philadelphia Eagles roster slowly comes together, here’s an early look at the projected 53-man roster.

Barring any unforeseen moves by Howie Roseman–which is always likely–the Philadelphia Eagles roster is set. It has been a busy offseason, to be sure. What is reassuring is that, despite the moves made, this has not been nearly as tumultuous as offseasons in recent memory. No major front office or coaching upheaval. The scouting department, save for the typical post-draft departures, is intact. The front office is, by all accounts, united and established (*whispers* for now).

The last two months has seen Carson Wentz surrounded with far more talent than was on the roster at this time last year. The offensive line is deeper and more skilled. The wide receivers can, you know, catch footballs. The running backs…are small. But ya know what? So was that Russian chicken in Rocky IV and it took Balboa a full montage to catch that little bastard.

The defense–which will also help Carson Wentz win football games, for what it’s worth–saw similar upgrades. Bennie Logan was replaced, in essence, with a younger & more explosive rushing tackle to accompany Fletcher Cox. Connor Barwin, much to SEPTA’s dismay, was replaced by Chris Long & a talented first round draft pick, in Derek Barnett.

More from Philadelphia Eagles

While the linebackers will likely be the same, the secondary has been infused with more talent. The cornerbacks will not be good this year, in all likelihood. But the position was addressed and the young guys will grow together and, inarguably, have more raw talent than Leodis McKelvin & whoever the other guy was that now plays in Dallas I can’t even remember anymore he was awful…

Even the special teams got some love in the draft. #FippIt #FippItGood

…NOLAN CARROLL!

(nailed it).

So how do all these pieces fill out the 53 man roster for the Philadelphia Eagles? You’re going to see a ton of writers jump into that sort of premature and, quite honestly, ridiculous conjecture in the coming weeks…

…which is why I am going to do it now! Remember, this reflects the roster as currently constructed. Howie’s gonna Howie so players below are always subject to change. For my projected depth chart, click here.

With the summer months approaching, the shake up of the roster will be interesting to follow. For now, the projected 53-man roster above seems like the
