Number 20: Andre Blake – Keeper, Philadelphia Union

Coming off of a year in which he won MLS Keeper of the year, Blake’s stock is at an all-time high. While the Philadelphia Union’s defense wasn’t particularly good last year, without Blake it would have been significantly worse. In his first full season in action for the Union, Blake showed that the hype surrounding him when he was the first pick in the MLS SuperDraft was real and then some.

#SavesByDre became a normal thing and Blake’s inhumane reflexes meant that he made regular apperances on MLS save of the week lists and then some. Blake may be rated lowly on this list coming in at only 20 but he is also the only member of the Philadelphia Union that the average Philadelphia sports fan can name. In a city where football is king and everything else comes secondary, that is an accomplishment by itself. The Union may be in a rough patch right now but if they can turn it around for their second consecutive playoff berth, expect Blake to make quite a climb up this list next time around.
