Number 5: 470 ft. at Turner Field on May 13th, 2011.

Ryan Howard blasted a 470 ft. home run in the first inning of a rivalry game against the Atlanta Braves. The home run came at the fault of Brandon Beachy, who hung a fastball right down the center of the plate.

Howard’s strength is ridiculous here. The bat head came around quick to lead to an absolute blast to dead center at Turner Field. Howard otherwise struggled against the Braves in 2011, hitting just 3 home runs and 11 RBI in 18 games and 69 at-bats.

The Philadelphia Phillies got an early three-run from their power hitting first-baseman and went on to win the game 5-4. That type of early run production is exactly what Howard has provided the team in his long stretch.

It’s pretty incredible to list a whopping 470 ft. home run as the “shortest” home run on this list. But that’s the kind of power Howard had.

The ball came off the bat at an incredible speed of 113.1 miles per hour, with absolutely no impact due to wind or temperature and impacted by altitude 1, according to ESPN’s Home Run Tracker.

This was a representation of Howard’s strength, and nothing else. Hitting a ball out of the park to dead center isn’t child’s play, and the greatness of Ryan Howard was portrayed here. This home run was just one of six monthly home runs and 3 RBIs from an outstanding 27 in the month. The Atlanta Braves will surely be glad to see Howard out of a Phillies uniform after this season.
