The Philadelphia Eagles receivers have issues with catching footballs and it was highlighted last night in their matchup with the Pittsburg Steelers.

Sam Bradford who can also be referred to as Sammy Checkdowns didn’t have a bad game under center for the Philadelphia Eagles as he finished 14/19 for 115 yards. While those aren’t numbers that jump off of the page more days than not they can put the Eagles in good situations. He would have finished with better numbers if he wasn’t let down by his receivers.

Nelson Agholor and Josh Huff were the main culprits for the Philadelphia Eagles on the night which isn’t good when both are fighting for starting jobs on offense. If the newest member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Dorial Green-Beckham, works out both could be pushed to the fringes of the offense.

Huff had a particularly egregious drop heading into the half that helped spawn this article. Sam Bradford put a beautiful touch on a ball (yes that actually happened) and Huff let it slip through his hands like it was coated with butter leading us to wonder how Philadelphia Eagles receivers could improve their chances of actually catching footballs.

More from Philadelphia Eagles

Before I continue I would like to note that from this point forward this article will become entirely satirical. Please don’t take anything said from here on out too seriously. Now for those of you that are left let’s get started.

Velcro the football and wear velcro gloves.

The best part of playing handball is that you don’t have to worry about catching the ball because it’s covered in velcro. This could help the Philadelphia Eagles receivers avoid dropping balls that hit their hands because they’ll be stuck there until they reach the end zone. This could also help the entire team with fumbles because they experienced that issue within the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week.

“Tom sucks … im going make that next ball a [expletive] balloon” – Jim McNally

Partially deflated footballs are supposed to be easier to catch right? I mean it did help the New England Patriots beat the Colts 45-7 but Sam Bradford will have to make sure that he does a better job keeping his equipment managers happier than Tom Brady did. Also if this helps the eagles win enough games to go to the NFC Championship no one would care, right? Isn’t that how this thing works?

Stuck to you like glue.

In my personal favorite, the Philadelphia Eagles set up the field like the QB challenge at the NFL combine. There are rings that Bradford would aim the ball through rings that would coat it with glue making it almost impossible for a receiver to screw up the catch almost. The refs may have a hard time attempting to retrieve the ball to go back to the line of scrimmage but that’s another issue for another time.

The video says it all, need I add more?

We could always use a radioactive spider at the Linc.

Spiders changed Peter Parker’s life why can’t they revitalize Nelson Agholor? Imagine Agholor snagging balls out of the air with webs coming from his hands. It could be better than the second coming of Terrell Owens. The ability to shoot webs could help with Agholor’s issues getting separation from defenders as well. What’s not to like?

While this satirical article is meant to poke fun at the Philadelphia Eagles’ current receiving woes it also highlights why they needed to acquire DGB so badly. He has immediately become the Eagles receiver with the best raw skills and if he can learn the offense. Hopefully, the receiving core can be a little better than the dumpster fire that we’ve seen thus far but that may be asking too much.
