Quarterback, Grade: C-

The Philadelphia Eagles are entering the 2016 campaign with what could be considered as one of the best in terms of having quality quarterbacks from first to third on the depth chart. The glaring problem is they don’t have one quarterback who can currently be considered a potential pro bowler. Sam Bradford is not, has not, and will never be more than a mediocre quarterback in the National Football League. Some have tried to make the argument that towards the end of last season Bradford showed promise.

The only promise he showed was that he wasn’t as terrible as he was for every game leading up to his “turnaround.” In his last five games of this past year, he threw for eight touchdowns and four interceptions. Those are numbers good enough to be a mediocre QB. To put this in perspective, Russell Wilson threw for 16 touchdowns to just ONE pick in that same time. And Kirk Cousins threw for a 13 to one TD to INT ratio.

So just because Sammy “Sleeves” wasn’t as god awful as he was to start the year, he didn’t perform to the level needed of him in the playoff stretch. Is it a coincidence that Bradford hasn’t played in a playoff game in his career?

The other two quarterbacks on the roster are solid, but also don’t classify as anything more than mediocre at this point. Chase Daniel is what he is… a solid backup. Carson Wentz has all the potential in the world as it sits today, but putting him in right now would be useless when you’re currently paying Bradford a small fortune. Even Wentz was to take the field in his rookie season, he is still just a rookie, so to expect him to do anything more that Bradford coming straight out of North Dakota State wouldn’t be realistic.
