Didier Drogba, Ignacio Piatti, Harry Shipp (yes he’s getting there)- This is a star-studded roster that when in form, can take down almost any MLS team but their performance goes beyond that of their stars.

7/23 vs The Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium-

The star-studded team from Canada has been demolishing the MLS so far this season WITHOUT Didier Drogba. In his absence Ignacio Piatti has had the space to flourish and show Montreal why they gave him a massive extension instead of cashing in at his peak value. If he’s able to hold form for the season the MVP award may stay in Canada but move from Toronto to Montreal.

More from Section 215

It should be interesting to see what heights Montreal can reach once Drogba is allowed to play (Once they play games on grass) because he is one of the most physically imposing strikers in all of Major League Soccer when healthy.

Drogba will provide a huge test for the Philadelphia Union’s backline because their center backs will have to rely on positioning since they can’t rely on beating him with strength. The Montreal backline will also give the Union a good challenge especially striker CJ Sapong.

Montreal has a shot at the Supporters Shield this season and you always want to measure how you perform against the top teams in the league.
